Services for Volunteers PDF Print

We offer volunteers the chance for a hands-on experience by personally contributing to important climate adaptation, conservation initiatives and community projects in our organisation.

Currently we have one volunteer students from Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg in Germany, Ms. Sonja Wollf, who is a student of geography, cultural anthropology and political science. After years of interdisciplinary, but mostly theoretical development studies in all three subjects she would like to do some empirical research in Tansania for her masters' thesis in geography.

Why volunteer?

  • To gain experience
  • To meet new people and lern new cultures
  • To keep busy and do something rewarding and useful
  • To give something back
  • To learn new skills
  • To prepare oneself for future employment
  • To help gain entry into university or college
  • To have lots of fun!

Who can apply to be a volunteer?

People aged 22 and over can apply to become a volunteer through a partner organisation of affiliated organisations in Tanzania, The German-Tanzanian Friendship Society in Germany e.V. (www.DETAF.org). There is no upper age limit,  what is important for us is that you are fit and well enough to undertake the volunteer role of your choice and that you have a genuine interest in helping others.
